George Pickett & Associates is a multi-person, multi-line manufacturers agency specializing in electrical products for the electrical industry through electrical wholesalers in the two Carolinas and Virginia.

We are dedicated to structured growth through greater market penetration in our present geographical area with our current principals and by assuming responsibility for new principals interested in professional representation.

Our History

George Pickett and Associates was founded in November of 1962 when George Pickett opened the original location in Cary, NC. In 1971, he purchased a small warehouse to provide local stock to area distributors. The business quickly grew and a second warehouse was purchased in 1972. By 1981 George was able to build a 6000-square-foot warehouse, making GP&A one of the largest stocking representatives in the state of North Carolina. In 1997, George’s son Howard bought the company before George passed away in 1998. Howard further expanded the business and moved the agency to Apex, NC building a 19,500-square-foot warehouse. A 7,500-square-foot addition was completed in 2021 which now offers 3 loading docks. Our company continues to grow and expand yearly. We know everything we have accomplished is due in part to our wonderful employees and loyal customers.

Outside Sales

Meet the Outside sales team at George Pickett and Associates! Our dedicated team brings over 100+ years of sales experience and expertise to provide the best possible support for our customers. We not only enjoy the challenge of selling but focus on building long-lasting relationships with our customers and earn the trust for all their needs in the electrical industry.

Howard Pickett

President/Owner

Howard has been part of GP&A since his dad opened the doors in 1962. Working part time in Highschool and College while attending North Carolina State University. Howard played basketball at NC State and was a shooting guard for the 1974 NCAA National Championship team. Howard started full time with the company in 1976 after graduating from North Carolina State University. He took on many roles from warehouse, inside sales and outside sales, calling on both Carolinas and Virginia. Howard purchased the agency from his father George in 1997 and is the current owner and President. He currently calls on Raleigh, Charlotte, and Florence, South Carolina territories. He has completed the Certified Professional Manufacturer’s Representative Program in 1995.

During Howard’s free time he enjoys traveling and spending time with his family and friends. Howard is also a huge NC State and Carolina Hurricanes fan.

Taylor Moseley

Vice President of Sales

Taylor joined GP&A in August 2011 working part time in the warehouse while attending North Carolina State University. After Graduating in 2012, Taylor joined our inside sales team and became our Virginia outside salesmen in November of 2014. In 2022, Taylor became the Vice President of sales and has since moved back to Apex, NC to our home office. He currently calls on our company’s Strategic accounts.  Taylor completed Certified Professional Sales Consultant program in May 2017 and Certified Professional Manufacturer’s Representative Program in April 2021.

During his free time, Taylor loves spending time with his Wife Brett, and two young daughters Campbell and Palmer. He is a diehard fan of NC State sports and the Carolina Hurricanes and loves to go to as many games as possible.

Jonathan Anderson

Outside Sales (SC)

Jonathan joined GP&A in December 2020 as our South Carolina Outside Salesmen. Jonathan was the Eastern Regional Sales Manager of Current Tools for over 7 years, traveling up and down the east coast calling on contractors and distributors. He has over 27 years of experience in sales in the electrical and construction industries. He completed the Certified Professional Sales Consultant program in August of 2023.

During his free time Jonathan enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He is also a huge University of South Carolina fan and attends many of their sporting events.

Jake Rice

Outside Sales (Eastern NC)

Jake joined our agency part time working in the warehouse in May 2015 while attending North Carolina State University. He graduated in 2016 with a degree in Agriculture and Environmental Technology. He started full-time in 2016 as our Supply Chain Manager and quickly moved to our inside sales team. Jake started outside sales in Eastern North Carolina in 2018. He completed the Certified Professional Sales Consultant program in October 2021.

During his free time Jake enjoys spending time with his wife and dog. He is also a huge music fan. Him and his wife travel to many concerts throughout the country. He also plays the mandolin and guitar in a local band.

Stewart Haynes

Outside Sales (VA)

Stewart started working part time for GP&A in January 2019 in the warehouse while attending North Carolina State University. After graduating in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in History, he joined the inside sales team and learned everything associated with the company from the inside out. He also managed our production/assembly team to help put material together for our manufacturers. Stewart moved to Richmond, VA in August of 2022 to become our Virginia Outside Salesmen.

Stewart is a NC State athletics enthusiast and tries to attend as many football and basketball games as possible. He also is an avid disc golfer, enjoys traveling, and spending time with his family and friends.

Austin Luttrell

Outside Sales (Western NC & Southwest VA)

Austin joined our agency part time in our warehouse in January 2021 while attending North Carolina State University. In 2023 he graduated with a business degree with a focus in supply chain management. He started inside sales in 2023 and learned all the ins and outs of our business. Austin started outside sales in 2024 and is calling on Western North Carolina and Southwest Virginia.

During his free time Austin enjoys watching NC State sports, playing golf and pickleball, and traveling all over the country.

Lisa Mickys

Inside Sales

Lisa joined GP&A in March of 2019 doing inside sales and order entry, after working in the banking industry for over 10 years. Lisa graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, New York. Lisa moved to the Raleigh area 7 years ago from New York and is glad to be in the warmer weather.

During her free time, Lisa enjoys spending time with her husband, good friends, and family when she can. She also loves photography and is an avid music fan of many genres. She is a huge football fan, especially of the 49ers!

Jonathan Chester

Inside Sales Manager

Jonathan joined our agency in October 1998 as our Inside Sales manager. Jonathan has over 32 years of experience within the electrical industry with sales and purchasing. He graduated from North Carolina State University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts in Textiles.

During his free time Jonathan enjoys traveling and being outdoors working in the yard and gardening. He is also a huge NC State sports fan and loves to go to as many Basketball, Football, and Baseball games as he can!

Jessica Tripp

Inside Sales

Jessica joined our inside sales team at GP&A in November 2014. She is 2003 graduate of Campbell University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Jessica has an extensive background in sales, working in electrical sales currently and was a former sales manager for a large Restaurant franchise.

During her free time, Jessica enjoys spending time with her family, especially watching her two sons play hockey. She is also a major Carolina Hurricanes fan and loves to attend games as much as possible.

Gregg Gay

Inside Sales

Gregg has been on the GP&A inside team for over 12 years, rejoining our firm in September of 2016. He has been in the Electrical Industry for almost 40 years in many different roles through distribution in the Raleigh market. This includes sales, purchasing and management.

During his free time, Gregg enjoys spending time with his family, and loves being in the outdoors camping and target shooting.

Sandi Gossard

Chief Financial Officer

Sandi joined the GP&A staff as the Chief Financial Officer in February 2023. She comes with over 20 plus years of experience in finance, human resources, and payroll for both large and small corporations. Sandi moved to the Raleigh area in June 2018 from Alabama and loves being in the Triangle area.

During her free time Sandi loves spending time with her husband, who is a Retired First Seargent of the US Army, and their dog, Dutton. Her and husband love to travel and have traveled all over the world in the past few years.

Emmett Holder

Warehouse Manager

Emmett joined GP&A in July 2018 after working on the distribution side. He has over 11 years of experience in Warehouse management and manages over 12 part time warehouse employees with day-to-day operations. Prior to warehouse management, Emmett had a self-owned landscaping business for over 12 years. 

During his free time Emmett enjoys spending his time outdoors, hunting and target shooting. He also loves spending time with family and friends.
